April’s Book: Happiness Falls by Kim Angie

Synopsis of Book: “Happiness Falls” by Angie Kim is a novel about a biracial Korean-American family in Virginia whose lives are drastically disrupted when their father mysteriously disappears, leaving the family to grapple with the mystery of his whereabouts while simultaneously navigating the complex dynamics of their family, particularly the challenges of communicating with their younger brother, Eugene, who has Angelman syndrome and cannot speak, making him the only potential witness to the father’s disappearance; the story explores themes of love, language, race, and the search for understanding within a family crisis.
